October 1, 2010 — DekaTron Corporation announced today that it has been awarded a $20 million indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract for the continued development and operations and maintenance of the Departmental E-Budgeting System (DEBS) sponsored by the Department of Labor’s (DOL) Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management.

DEBS is the enterprise system that manages the entire budgeting process for the Department and the underlying agencies and offices. It provides an integrated budget environment that enables users to enter, track, report, publish and analyze budget and performance data within and across all agencies. The system was designed to optimize resources throughout the budget formulation and execution life cycle and provide greater transparency to the budget decision-making process.

The awarded contract specifies that DekaTron will provide continued development, modernization, and enhancement of DEBS and operations and maintenance support, including testing of new components, change management, help desk support and project management. The 5-year contract covers a base 12-month period, with four additional 12-month extension options.

“Transparency is an ever-increasing Government priority, as evidenced by DOL’s investment in the Departmental E-Budgeting System,” stated Steve A. Silva, DekaTron Corporation’s Chief Executive Officer. “This contract award marks a significant milestone for DekaTron and our pursuit of the Open Government Initiative market, in which we use cost-effective technologies to increase transparency, collaboration and public participation in government.” “DekaTron will enable the DEBS program to realize its full potential,” according to Andrew Rider, the DEBS Program Manager. Mr. Rider further states that “By blending high-caliber government contractor talent with federal staff program knowledge, DOL will experience greater organizational efficiency and operational awareness with the DEBS system and these efforts will continue to complement the Budget Formulation and Execution Line of Business’ pursuit of providing cross-cutting solutions and value to the government budgeting community.”

DOL awarded the contract to DekaTron through a competitive procurement process in which all proposals were evaluated on the basis of technical merits, past performance and price in order to determine the best value to meet the government’s requirement. DOL designated the DEBS contract as a 100% set-aside for a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business.
